    Pete-sized Tartan Terrors Update

Wednesday, November 7, 2007, 06:31 PM EST [General]

    From another list:

    Okey-dokey.

Papa Scott spoke to Todd this morning, and it looks like yes, they'll be going through insurance for some of it, but the problem is that some of the stuff wasn't insured. Having been through this myself, I know some insurance companies just flat-out won't cover some things. The good news is that Sean never lets his bagpipes out of his sight, and Steve was just coming back from a solo gig and had his guitars with him. Also, Meg had just done a photo shoot and had had her utterly irreplaceable wedding dress with her in the car-- but had left it at her Mom's house in PA the night before.

Scott floated the idea of an online auction to be held on the Terrors' website, and we may try that: he's in for specially-made TT pen & pencil sets, and I've said I'll make a one-of-a-kind corset. (The TT symbol on the front, and flames painted all round it? With Sequel tap-dancing across the back?) There's a burnt scrap of Meg's micro-mini left, and Scott's sure SOMEONE would bid on that! We're also going to ask PARF management what they might be able to do. The whole band is still in shock, and trying to get their heads together at the moment, as well as trying to get ready for a big gig next weekend.

As soon as I know more, I'll post!

The Tartan Terrors need our help!

Tuesday, November 6, 2007, 05:37 PM EST [General]

This past Sunday, The Tartan Terrors' Suburban and trailer were stolen while touring in Canada. All of their equipment, CD's, costumes, instruments, and most importantly, their dog was in the truck & trailer. Thankfully, the dog has been recovered safe and sound, however, both the the Suburban and the trailer were stripped of their contents, then burned. They lost about $100,000 worth of their stuff, and while it was insured, they're terrified to use it as it will make their rates skyrocket, but at the same time, they have a big show coming up, and no gear. I think some people are trying to set up something where people can make donations, but in the meantime, please keep an eye on their MySpace page for more info. http://www.myspace.com/tartanterrors

Also, please, please keep an eye out on Ebay and other auction sites for any of their equipment, instruments, etc. If you see anything remotely suspicious, please contact the band ASAP.

I will continue to post updates as I hear them. Please feel free to crosspost and get the word out. Thanks!!

    Poe Evermore

Monday, November 5, 2007, 12:42 AM EST [General]

Just got back a little while ago from seeing Poe Evermore at the Mt. Hope Winery...the cast did a fantastic job, and created a very intense atmosphere that complimented Poe's works perfectly. It's definately worth going to see!

We browsed a bit in the Wine Shoppe beforehand, and a bottle of Maiden's Blush decided it needed to come home with me. Actually, a few bottles wanted to come home with me, but I could only afford one this trip. :P

Keeping Florida Rennies in my thoughts....

Wednesday, October 31, 2007, 02:41 PM EST [General]

Here's hoping that the hurricane currently situated in the Bahamas only skims Florida like they're predicting....and hopefully it won't hit the Keys, either.  Which side of the state is Lady of the Lakes Faire on? They said Miami/Ft. Lauderdale might get a bit of it, too, so batten down the hatches and stock up on rum!
